Books in the General Collection to be Unavailable
Preparation Begins for Mariners' Museum Library Arrival
On Monday, May 19th, we will begin the process of bringing the Mariner's Museum Library to the Trible Library.
Below is a brief schedule for your information.
- Monday, May 19th - The circulating book collection will be moved to an off-campus location.
Oversize, Juvenile, Learning Resources, and Reference books remain in the Library. Bound journals and microforms also remain onsite.
- Tuesday, June 3rd - Installation of the compact shelving begins.
- Monday, July 14th - Books begin to return to new shelves.
- Concurrent with this, a wall and the HVAC system will be installed for the Museum Library collection. Anticipated completion for this is August 15th.
We expect our general, circulating collection of books to be available for use by August 15th.
All online resources remain unaffected and are available off campus to CNU students, faculty, and staff. These materials include journals, newspapers, and electronic books. See the Library's alphabetical list of databases, the online catalog (search for "Oxford Reference Online" or "NetLibrary"), and e-books page. Interlibrary Loan materials will continue to be available for pick-up and return.
For more information or assistance call 757-594-7132. Alternately, check the Library’s homepage and blog for updates throughout the period.
