Coverting & Reformatting
Audio ConversionAudio from CDs, audiotapes and LPs can easily be digitized in the Media Center. Users can then edit the digital edition using available audio editing software and output the software to a desired media format.
Copyright Consideration: If you are working with materials you have created yourself and have not published commercially, you are free to convert the audio material to a digital format. However, if you are working with materials created by others, you may not digitize their audio without the creator's consent.
It is the responsibility of the user who digitizes audio to consider the issue of copyright and proceed appropriately.
Video ConversionDigital Media Services supports video digitization and editing. Formats that can be digitized include VHS, Mini-DV/DVC and DVD. Digital video can be edited and output to a number of different formats.

Places to StudyIn the Media Center Area (220 of the Trible Library), the following places are available for study:
PrintingOnly in the Trible Library can you print either black & white or color. After choosing to print, go to the Media Center desk, swipe your card and release your print job. If you have any questions during the printing process, see the Media Center staff. The fees for printing are:
eDITING StationsThe Editing Station rooms are rooms to produce, view, or listen to materials. These rooms are available to any current CNU student, faculty, staff or alumni. Arrangements for use of the production/performance stations can be made with the Media Center staff. Each Editing Suite computer has different applications available to the user. For more information, please see our editing station guidelines & editing station computing applications.
In addition to the Editing Suites, use our 8 thin clients and 2 rich clients to produce documents and web browse.
Group Viewing RoomGroup activities and assignments are an integral part of many courses. Students often have to scramble to find a room equipped with the technologies that allow them to view or listen to multimedia in a private group setting.
In order to meet the growing multimedia needs of student groups, the Trible Library Media Center has created a new, private group viewing room. The group viewing room, which accommodates between 2-9 students, has a 55" plasma and a DVD player.
Reserves
All reserves (including media reserves) must be requested by completing a reserves request form, which is located at http://library.cnu.edu/reserveform.pdf and submitted to the Trible Library main circulation desk.
After media material is placed on reserve, the material may be checked out for the 4 hour lending period from the Trible Library main circulation desk; however, the reserve media material should not leave the Trible Library. All reserve material must be performed or played within the Trible Library.

Scanning
TextOmniPage and Acrobat Capture software are available for use with the Media Center scanners. Scanned text may be converted into a number of different formats including Microsoft Word, PDF, and rich text.
Slides, Negatives & PicturesThe Media Center scanners are equipped with templates, which enable scanning of 35mm slides and film. Images can be acquired in a number of different formats for Powerpoint presentations or burned onto a CD.
Training
MEDIA MATTEREach month the Media Center staff will offer two technology sessions that will introduce new media technology. The Media Matter sessions are free and open to the public; however, enrollment is limited. Typical, Media Matter sessions have a 1/2 hour duration. Past Media Matter sessions included Google Email and Microsoft Word. MEDIA WORKSHOPSIn addition to our Media Matter sessions, the Media Center also offers free Media Workshops. Media Workshops are tailored to meet your media technology needs.
From web site creation to software consultation, our one-on-one workshops will prepare you to incorporate media technology to communicate your vision. If you have a project, presentation or assignment and would like to incorporate media technology, do not hesitate to schedule a Media Workshop so that we may assist you in your endeavor.
To schedule a workshop, please email mediacenter@cnu.edu giving at least 24 hours prior to your desired scheduled time. In the email, please give a brief description on the topic or software so that we may better assist you.
Website DevelopmentThe Media Center offers multimedia and world-wide-web graphics authoring, graphic design, image file conversion, image scanning, and assistance with all your web development needs. Adobe CS2 products: Photoshop, Pagemaker, Illustrator, and Macromedia Dreamweaver are available on the graphics station.
